The Grand Mufti of India, Taj al-Shari’ah Mufti Muhammad Akhtar Rida Khan on the Na’layn issue.

by Seeker

The Grand Mufti of India, Taj al-Shari’ah Mufti Muhammad Akhtar Rida Khan on the Na’layn issue.

Question: In certain countries of America and Europe, the buying and selling of shoes with the imprint of the likeness of the Blessed Sandal of the Master salAllahu alayhi wa sallam is being witnessed. Some sandals are the exact replicas and some are like normal sandals but the design of the Blessed Na’layn has been either stitched on them or imprinted on them. What is the ruling on buying and selling such sandals? The buyers and sellers claim to be Sufi Muslims.

Answer: If the buying and selling is for the purpose of wearing the sandals on the feet, then this is extreme disrespect and if it is the true likeness of the Blessed Na’layn and if it is kept in a place of respect, then there is nothing wrong in this.

Ábdullah bin Unays rađiyAllāhu ánhu recovers from a severe head wound

by Seeker

Ábdullah bin Unays rađiyAllāhu ánhu says,

“The Jew Mustanir bin Rizam struck my face with his bent staff made from the Shauhat tree. The wound was so severe that it fractured my skull and exposed it. I then went to show it to the beloved Messenger of Allah śallAllāhu álayhi wa sallam, who opened it up and applied His blessed Saliva to it. (It healed immediately and so effectively that) When I then looked at it, I could see nothing of the wound.”[1]

by Seeker

Salamah bin Nufayl rađiyAllāhu ánhu reports that he once asked our beloved Master śallAllāhu álayhi wa sallam whether he received food from the heavens. When the beloved Messenger śallAllāhu álayhi wa sallam replied that He did, Salamah rađiyAllāhu ánhu asked, “Does anything stay over from it?” “Yes,” The beloved Messenger śallAllāhu álayhi wa sallam replied. “Then what happens to it?” I asked further. “It is then lifted back to the heavens,” was the reply.[1]

The effects of elderly age are removed from the face of Qatadah bin Milhan rađiyAllāhu ánhu

Abul Álaa says,

“I was with Qatadah bin Milhān rađiyAllāhu ánhu at the place where he passed away. When someone passed by at the back of the room, I saw his reflection on the face of Qatadah rađiyAllāhu ánhu. The beloved Messenger of Allah śallAllāhu álayhi wa sallam once passed his blessed hand over Qatadah rađiyAllāhu ánhu’s face due to which his face appeared to be oiled every time I looked at him.”[1]

Ḥayyān bin Umayr reports,

“The beloved Messenger śallAllāhu álayhi wa sallam passed His blessed hand over the face of Qatadah bin Milhān rađiyAllāhu ánhu, as a result of which every part of Qatadah’s body showed signs of ageing as he grew older, aside for his face. I was present at the time of his demise and when a woman passed by (behind me), I saw her reflection on his face just as I would have seen it in a mirror.”[2]

by Seeker

In a narration discussing the special moment of the day of Jumuáh, Abu Saýīd al-Khudrī rađiyAllāhu ánhu reports that there was a heavy storm that night and when the beloved Messenger śallAllāhu álayhi wa sallam emerged for the Íshaá salāh, a streak of lightning flashed. In its light, the beloved Messenger śallAllāhu álayhi wa sallam saw Qatadah bin Núman rađiyAllāhu ánhu. “How did you come in the darkness, O Qatadah?” The beloved Messenger śallAllāhu álayhi wa sallam asked. Qatadah rađiyAllāhu ánhu replied, “Ya Rasūlullah śallAllāhu álayhi wa sallam! I knew that there will be a few people attending the salāh tonight, so I wished to be here.” The beloved Messenger śallAllāhu álayhi wa sallam then said to him, “Stay where you are after the salāh, until I come pass you.” When the beloved Messenger śallAllāhu álayhi wa sallam returned after the salāh, the beloved Messenger śallAllāhu álayhi wa sallam gave Qatadah rađiyAllāhu ánhu a branch of a date palm saying, “Take this. It will light up ten arm’s lengths in front of you and the behind you. When you then enter your house and see a black figure in the corner of the house, hit it with this branch because it is a Satan.”[1]

Stupid Thanwi

Ashraf Ali Thanwi stated: Once a lawyer asked me, “Why have the five prayers been prescribed?” I said, “Why is your nose on your face? Why is it not on your back?” To which he replied, “If it were to be on the back it would look hideous/ugly.” I said, “Totally incorrect! If everyone’s nose was on their back it would not look ugly”. He (the lawyer) went silent.
